Neo-classic villa facades

About the project

The colours used in neo-classic

A single colour suits neo-classic villa facades, usually a shade of matt white or beige. Other colours can be used, such as grey, light green and neutral colours in general, and the colour of the floor stays close to that of the walls and ceilings. Furniture comes in contrasting pairs of colours that include gold and copper and gilded metals, inlaid with strong colours such as dark red and blue, to add more life and architectural harmony to the interior.

Neo-classic facades

Neo-classic villa facades can be designed with simple components, details, materials and colours that reflect the beauty and luxury of this elegant architectural style. Neo-classic facades can also be designed for apartment buildings, commercial buildings and office buildings.

The lines of neo-classic design

It is an extension of the classical architectural style in its divisions and many details, but with drawn rather than carved lines. It differs from traditional classic in having no carving or heavy ornament, only calm, simple lines. It uses simple frames on the walls in different shapes, and it is marked by repetition, regularity and symmetry across the elements used in decoration and in neo-classic villa facades in general.

Where the neo-classic style comes from

It is well known in Europe, and it differs from one European country to another according to each country's history and civilisation. It later became one of the favoured styles in the Arab countries and the Gulf, and in Saudi Arabia in particular, and demand for neo-classic villa facades is growing.

Where the neo-classic style is used in interiors

Neo-classic interior design can be used in the following spaces:

  • Neo-classic is used in the design of reception halls, men's majlis rooms and the Arabic majlis.
  • It is used in the women's salon and any other salons, where the beauty of the style shows more the wider the walls and the larger the spaces.
  • Neo-classic decoration is used in master bedrooms and children's bedrooms, because of its simple, beautiful architectural details, and care is taken to choose neo-classic furniture that adds to the beauty of the space.

The drawbacks of neo-classic

  • High costs compared with the modern style.
  • Its beauty only shows fully on facades when stone or GRC is used, and these materials are expensive.
  • Labour: since neo-classic is rich in detail, it needs skilled workers to carry out this work properly.
  • Neo-classic furniture must be used to achieve the desired luxury, but many people prefer modern furniture for its fair price and comfort.

More information on the neo-classic style can be found in Encyclopaedia Britannica and Visual Arts Cork.
